A few things you might be wondering

How long does the love quiz take?

About 3 minutes for 12 quick questions. Answer on your own, then send your partner a link if you'd like to compare.

Can this tell if we are soulmates?

Soulmate compatibility is a way to talk about feeling close, enjoying your spark and choosing a future together. A score can't prove someone is your forever person. Do you tell each other the full story of your day? Do you look forward to time together? Do your plans make room for each other? Compare your answers and pick one small thing you'd like more of this week.

How does it choose my love type?

Each ingredient scoring 60 percent or more counts toward your type. The combination picks one of eight patterns inspired by Sternberg. That cutoff is our choice, not a scientific dividing line, and quieter ingredients still count in your relationship.

Does passion have to mean sex?

No. It can mean butterflies before a call, flirting, or looking forward to a date. Different amounts of passion can feel right for different people, including asexual people.

Where are my answers saved?

Your answers are saved in your browser. Your result is stored anonymously when you finish, with no names or emails, so your partner can compare. Anyone with the link can view the shared result.

About this love quiz

What makes your connection feel like yours? Maybe you tell each other every odd little thought. Maybe a flirty text still gives you butterflies. Maybe it is the way you keep making room for each other next month and next year. This love quiz looks at closeness, passion, and commitment: the three ingredients in psychologist Robert Sternberg's triangular theory of love.

Twelve original questions take about 3 minutes. Pick the answer that sounds most like you lately. Romantic excitement can be nonsexual, and a quieter spark can suit you both just fine.

Want to compare? Create a share link so your partner can answer separately. Your answers are saved in your browser and your result is stored anonymously when you finish, with no names or emails, so you can share it with a private link. Anyone with the link can view the shared result.

Your type comes from the mix of the three ingredients, not a contest to have the most love. This is for fun and self-reflection, not therapy. Use it to ask what each of you enjoys and what you would like more of.

What this quiz measures

A conversation starter, grounded in relationship research.

Intimacy

How close you feel when you share the real story behind your day.

Sternberg’s intimacy component concerns emotional closeness and connection within love [1].

Passion

How much romantic excitement you feel, from a flirty text to looking forward to a date.

Sternberg’s passion component includes romantic motivation and attraction; this quiz samples it through inclusive everyday scenarios [1].

Commitment

How much you choose to make room for this relationship now and in your future.

Sternberg distinguishes a decision to love from an intention to maintain that love over time [1].
