- 03
After question 20, stop there or reveal a bonus 21st. Start another round for a new mix, or browse all 84 prompts below.

A few things you might be wondering
How do you play 20 questions as a couple?
In this version, you ask conversation questions rather than guessing a secret object with yes-or-no clues. Take turns reading a card and give each other time to answer. There is no winning score.
What is the difference between 20 and 21 questions?
For a conversation round, it can be as simple as one extra turn. This page offers a bonus question after number 20. If you'd rather draw playful prompts at random for all 21 turns, try the 21-spin round on our fun questions page.
Do we have to answer every question?
No. You can move past any card, or stop on one question for the whole evening. The progress count is a guide to the round, not a list of things you owe an answer to.
Which questions work for a new couple?
Start with the fun and stories sections. The future questions can stay hypothetical, and you can leave the more personal ones until you both feel ready.
Will a second round use the same questions?
The next round draws from cards outside the round you just played when enough remain. The full bank has 84 questions, so you can get a different mix without starting another page.
For a more playful round, try 21 questions with the fun-question spinner.
